Dear Friends of Saint Charles Caritas, Charity on the Border:

On behalf of Saint Charles Caritas, we would like to wish you and will be praying for you and your family that your 2008 will be healthy, with lingering peace & joy through out the year!

I would like to apologize to all our friends  and the donors last November & December and who sent us Christmas cards and novena prayers of not responding to you is because for the last months I'd been joggling my time between Caritas, work & Jim (I'd been traveling every 15 days to Phoenix to assist Jim for the last 3 months and when we got back last Dec., I got sick). My energy was not all there for me last December. But despite all of these, you are always in my heart and prayers every morning.

Jan. 12, 2008, Saturday is the Project#11 Distribution of Food at the TJ dump site for 250 poor families and children. We need volunteers! Come & have the joy of giving by distributing these bags of food and other things to the poor.
Please be at St. Charles office at 8am, and bring your passport. If you do not have a passport or your passport is expired, please bring your birth certificate and ID with picture and your expired passport. I heard so many versions of the requirements coming back into the U.S. but the most common denominator about the requirements are: U.S. passport, Birth Certificate and I.D. Please call me or send me an email, we have only 2 vans. The sisters will pick us up at the other side of the border and possibly we will be back in the U.S. by 3pm.

Thank you to all volunteers last Dec, 12, Bagging of Food for Project#11 and thank you for the individuals who dropped off their donations Margie, Susan & Ana. This was the biggest number of volunteers ever since 2001,  more than 40 volunteers  came and we finished the bagging earlier than expected: Jack Stroh, Megan Haissig, Sue Foley, Tori Ryan, Nick & Michael Podd, Ana & Juan Lias, Kenny & Veronica McGregor, April, Rebecca & Emily Stewart, Sister Rosalva & Sister Elvia, Nita Blackinton, Gary Brown, Michael & Morgan Ross, Richard & Jackie Palmer, Marina, Lumen & Coral Vera & classmate from Malaysia, Diane Martin, Tita Bautista, Eric Cayetano & Melissa Cordero, Lupe Zamora, Nicholas, Chuy Zamora, Brenda Isais, Celeste Salazar, Sahara Guiven, Jillian,  Aime & Midolie Layola, Thelma & Rigo Acosta, Christin Philipps, Alex Rullan, Elaine Rechs & Ivon Trujillo. Thank you, Jack Stroh for buying 10 boxes of pizza for the volunteers!

Dec., 29th Costco buy of food: Thank you volunteers: Marina, Coral Vera and her classmate from Malaysia, Lupe Zamora & Elaine Rechs.

Thank you so much Anonymous donor of socks and gloves. Our donor always donates these items during Christmas time for the children in the dumpsite. Also to our donors from Wyoming, Texas, Nevada, North Park, Kensington & Beverly Hills CA. All of you who care for the poor are awesome individuals. God bless you always!

I hope to see next Saturday for the Distribution of Food! Caritas Day will be every 3rd Sunday of the month!
