Dear Friends of Saint Charles
Caritas, Charity on the Border:
I hope your had a
blessed weekend!
March 1, 2008, Saturday is Project# 12,
buying, transporting and bagging of food for 250
poor families residing at the
TJ dump site. We need volunteers
in all ages and pick up trucks.
For volunteers who have pick up trucks,
please be at St. Charles garage#1 at
8am, and for volunteers who will bag
the food, please be at St. Charles at 9:30am.
We need baby food, bars of soap, shampoos, and
cookies for the children. In our last distribution
of food at
TJ dump site, we noticed
that there were many pregnant young ladies and
many babies. If you could please donate baby food
and hygiene products for these babies.
Last Saturday, Feb. 9th
was a wonderful day for all the volunteers. These
volunteers were the angels of mercy. They worked
hard to prepare, cook and serve hundreds of plates
of spaghetti/hot-dogs, juices and cake for the
orphan children, 2 home for girls and home for the
elderly at the Casa de null .
The children sung several songs of prayers and
thanked and hugged us. We did not expect being
hugged by the children. We were all delighted by
their appreciations and some of us had teary eyes.
Volunteers were from Oceanside,
Escondido, North Park,
Coronado, Chula Vista, Imperial Beach & San
null : Michael Ross,
Margie
Benzie & Susan Fields,
Mary Wilson, Jack Stroh,
April Stewart, Beth
Wellner,
Belia
Ocampo,
Marena Vera,
Lupe Zamora &
Elain
Rechs.
I hope to see you next Saturday!
Sincerely yours,
