OFFICE
OF THE CHILDREN MINISTRY COORDINATOR
Pre-School,
LWC, Grades 1 6
It has been
a great year thus far. For the most part parents are following the rules.
Please read the administrative assistances, Janine Villanueva, article
to follow up on our traffic pattern situation. As a reminder, classes
are from 9:45 to 11:00 am on Saturday. We do NOT offer after classes care.
All parents should bring students on time and pick them up on time. Each
Saturday, parent bible study is offered. Attendance is usually low. What
type of message does this send to the children? This is your opportunity
to strengthen your faith and help your children in their faith journey.
I only have
a few activities to discuss. HCA, Holy Childhood Association, fund raising
is going beautifully. Carla De La Rosa of the intermediate formation class
in grade four has striven these first few months to help children in need.
She has brought in the most donations for this cause. She has given her
entire allowance plus the change that she gathers. She is truly following
in Christs footsteps. She was presented on December 15, 2001 with
a scooter for her efforts. A few other students were also recognized for
their contributions. I would like to thank everyone for giving so generously.
The class that raises the most cash donations from January through May
will receive a class party.
In keeping
with the Christmas season. The children have and continued to bring in
non-perishable food and baby items for Birthline.
Please keep
track of all scheduled parent meetings. Sacrament parents are those parents
whose children are working on completing their second year of religious
education. All other parents are considered non-sacrament. It is important
for parents/guardians to attend these informative sessions.
Please continue
to be involved in the religious education of your children. You are their
primary catechist. Rest assure that we are doing our part. Catechists
develop their teaching skills at monthly in-service training sessions.
They continually seek out materials and techniques to better guide your
children. It is important to form a bond with your child's catechist by
talking to your childs teacher.
